The Snowpack Academy is the educational division of the Cold School of Thought, offering a unique grade-adaptable ‘Intro to Street Dance’ Residency for schools, dance studios, after-school programs, and youth centers.
Rooted in authentic street dance culture, our mission is to develop both movement literacy and academic fluency, creating a dual path of creativity and classroom growth - all without the pressure to perform. Instead, students will participate in a Demonstration of Progress to celebrate their evolution.

Option 2: Institutional Adaptation
We train educator using our adaptable guide and curriculum toolkit. This is ideal for schools, community centers, or after-school programs with existing arts faculty.
Option 3: Guest Artist Format
Bring in a local street dance educator to teach any specific genre (Krump, Dancehall, Breakin, Locking, etc.) using our Snowpack framework.
Option 4: Out-House Model
Perfect for districts or youth orgs looking to formally integrate this program into their yearly offerings, customized by grade level.

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
The Snowpack Residency is an introductory street dance curriculum designed for kindergarten through 12th grade. Rooted in the cultural foundations of freestyle dance, the program emphasizes movement as both a creative outlet and an educational tool. It’s adaptable for dance studios, after-school programs, schools, and community centers - and can be taught directly by our lead educator, licensed to institutions, or customized to fit other instructors and styles.
Each student enters the program as a beginner and progresses through a rank-based system that recognizes development in both dance and academic enrichment. Instead of a high-pressure performance, students participate in a progress demonstration to reflect on their growth.
This program not only strengthens street dance foundations but integrates learning through math (counts), vocabulary (cultural terms), science (body & energy), social-emotional expression, and creative storytelling — all while building confidence, rhythm, and self-awareness.
